Screen Time Tip of the Week #7 – Family Time

One of the side effects of the predominance of screens in our lives is that the time spent on screens intrudes on quality time with family. Phones are always present in many homes – across activities and situations. To make sure your family is not losing connection due to screens, be intentional about setting aside time every day to be with your family, screen-free. This can include family meals, but should also include a variety of other activities such as games, walks, bike rides, crafting, or going to a playground. Make a list of family activities that can be reasonably done with the time you have available each day and prioritize putting all devices away for some consistent screen-free time.
